MARTIN, CHARLES
"The village all declared how much he knew;
'Twas certain he could write and cipher too."-Goldsmith
Charles Edward Martin is one of the many musically inclined
members of the General Section being a very good pianist.
"Marty" has taken a great interest in football and has worked
hard and faithfully trying to make the team. While he never
succeeded in getting on the Varsity , he was one of the indispensable
members of the class team. He has never taken a very
active part in any of the class activities, his most notable act
probably being his enrollment as a member of the "Magni Pedes."

MARTIN, DAVID
"I was not born for great affairs;
I pay my debts, believe, and say my prayers."
David Nauman Martin has for several years been associated
with the High School Orchestra, in which he has played first
violin. We can be safe in saying that "Dave" is the best violinist
the school now has. During his Senior year, he was treasurer
of the Orchestra and has been very faithful in the performance
of his duties. He is very much interested in electrical work
and printing, and expects to take up work of this character.
"Dave" was a member of the General Latin Section, and came
from the Chestnut Street School.

MEHL, ROBERT
"His modesty is a candle to his merit. "-Fielding
Robert Franklin Mehl was with us for a short time in his
Freshman year, but later moved to York. It is very fortunate
for the class that he moved back again as he is a very popular
and active member. He is very fond of poetry and literature
in general, and is interested in speaking and debating. It was
due to this interest that he was one of the founders of the Red
and Black Literary Society and its first secretary. "Bob" is a
ball player of some ability and is also noted for his skill in tennis.
He is very much interested in chemistry, and expects to take
up some work of this kind later. .
