Mrs. Pocahontas Peyton, a former resident of Parkersburg, died Wednesday morning at Washington, D. C., at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Walter L. Dyson. Mrs. Peyton was the widow of the late Milton Peyton[,] widely known Parkersburg barber, and the family resided here for many years. Mrs. Peyton had been living in Washington for the last four years.
She was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Susan Simmons. In addition to Mrs. Dyson she leaves another daughter, Mrs. William Sherman, of Ypsilanti, Mich., and also a sister, Mrs. Mary Wilson of this city. Guy S. Hollinger and Dennis P. Jones are nephews.
Word of Mrs. Peyton’s death was received here yesterday by Mrs. James Lacy of North Parkersburg, a niece. The body will be brought to Parkersburg for burial[,] and funeral arrangements are to be announced later.
