Bertha V. McCready, 61, died Friday, May 21, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 7, 1903, in Arcadia, Mason County, Washington to Hugh and Irene (Edgbert) Bridges. She married Chester F. McCready in Olympia on June 27, 1926. Mr. McCready died October 9, 1963.

Bertha was very active in the Salvation Army work and was a member of the Orchard Heights Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by two daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Boyd of Bremerton, and Mrs. Lola Silas of Port Orchard; two sons, James and Leonard, both of Port Orchard; her mother Mrs. Irene Bridges, Olympia; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Clark, Mrs. Gertrude Forsberg and Mrs. Jean Smyth, all of Olympia; two brothers, Clarence and Harold Bridges, both of Olympia; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 pm Wednesday at Orchard Heights Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Frank Schoonover will officiate. Concluding services at Sunset Lane Cemetery under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
