Retired Erie Engineer
William S. Ridinger, 73, of 156
Brainard Drive, retired locomotive engineer, died of a heart attack at 1:15am
Sunday, at his home. Mr Ridinger was born Oct 3, 1885, in Baden, WVa., a son
of Alexander and Margaret Gerlach Ridinger, and came to Youngstown 58 years
ago from Baden. He retired 3 years ago from the Erie Railroad where he had
worked 53 years. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the
Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Besides his wife, the former Sarah
Timlin, whom he married 46 years ago, he leaves two sons, Dr Paul E. of East
Lansing, Mich., and Dr Wayne S. of Youngstown; a daughter, Ruth Ridinger of
Youngstown; two brothers, John of Grand Rapids, Mich, and Karl of Youngstown;
five sisters, Mrs Frank Harris of Girard, Mrs Dorris Semple, Mrs Irvine Sass,
and Mrs Ida Chapman, all of Bristolville, and Mrs Fred Lineberger of Grand
Rapids and 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm
Wednesday at the Davis-Velker Funeral Home, where friends may call Tuesday
evening.
