John George Frey, born in Langendenzlingen, in the county of Emendingen, Grand Dukedom of Baben (Baden-corr), Germany, March 30, 1821.
Baptized April 1, 1821. Having been instructed in the Christian religion he was confirmed at the age of about 14 years. In the spring
of 1845 he entered the holy estate of matrimony with Miss Anna Mary Martin. God blessed them with with eleven childreen, three sons and
eight daughters. In 1853 he came to America and located in Sandusky county. He enlisted in Co. I, 33rd regiment, O.V.I., Sept. 26, 1864
and was honorably discharged June 5, 1865. He died January 19, 1905 making his age 83 years, 9 months and 19 days. He was preceded by
five children, one brother, two sisters, and two sons-in-law and leaves a wife, two sons, four daughters-in-law, twenty-seven grandchildren,
six great grandchildren. The funeral held Sunday was conducted by Rev. Geo. Mochel in both German and English. St. John's choir rendered
music and interment was made in Schoch's cemetery.
