Since his immigration to this country from Switzerland, in 1884, up to the last few months when illness caused him to give up active work, he had been associated and was up to the time of his death with the firm of Schwarzenbach, Huber & Co.. His thirty-five years with the one firm made him widely known in the silk industry.
