Obituaries - NY - 1915 - Edward Bunnell Phelps

Phelps, Edward Bunnell, died July 24, 1915, at his home,
500 West 122nd Street, in his 53rd years.
Mr. Phelps was born in New Haven, Connecticut, July 26, 1863,
son of Alfred William and Mary Ann (Bunnell) Phelps, and married
Miss Blanche Louise Lewis Dey, of New York City, on April
12, 1897
He graduated from Yale University in the class of '85, with the
degree of A. B., later, in 1902, M. A.
Thrift, a monthly insurance journal, was founded by him in
1894, and later its name was changed to the American Underwriter
Magazine and Insurance Review. He wrote a number of books on
insurance topics and was a frequent contributor to the magazines and
technical publications.
Mr. Phelps was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution,
the American Sociological Society, the American Economic
Association, the American Academy of Political and Social Science,
the American Statisyical Association, the yale Club, and Ivanhoe
Lodge, No. 610, F. & A. M., and a fellow of the Royal Statistical
Society of London.
His widow and stepson survive him.
