Rev. Father John Gloyd, life pastor of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Washington, died at the parsonage of the church yesterday. His death was the culmination of fours years of ill-health. He was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland in 1832. At Westminster, Md., he built St. John's Church, acting as its pastor for twenty-seven years. He was a warm friend of Cardinal Gibbons. The funeral probably will be held Saturday with the Cardinal officiating, and prominent clergy of Washington assisting.
