New York Obituaries - 1899 - William C. Daly |
William C. Daly of Chatham, NY, died yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. He had
undergne an operation for appendicitis and gradually sank until the end. He was State
Senator from 1885 to 1897 and was one of Louis F. Payn's chief lieutenants in politics.
He was one of the leading members of the Columbia County bar, and was about sixty years old.
He had served as member of the Republican State Committee and several times
Chairman of the Republican Executive Committee of his county, and occupied several
local offices, including that of President of the village of Chatham. He was prominent
as a Mason, and was District Deputy Grand Mason in that order.
