New York Obituaries - 1864 - William A. Van Buren |
On Saturday, Jan 9, of typhoid fever, William A. Van Buren, in the 17th year of his age.
At a meeting of his classmates at Phillips' Exeter Academy, New Hampshire, the
following resolutions were adopted:
Whereas, It has pleased God in His All-wise Providence to remove from our midst our beloved
classmate and companion Wm. A. VanBuren;
Resolved: That while bowing in humble resignation to His supreme will, we desire to express our
heartfelt sorrow for his untimely death.
Resolved: While recalling his endearing traits of character, for which he will be ever kindly
remembered by us, we wish to express our deepest sympathy with his afflicted family.
Resolved: That the usual badge of mourning be worn for the period of thirty days.
Resolved: That these resolutions be printed in the Exeter News Letter and the New York
Times, and a copy of each transmitted to his parents.
