New York Obituaries - 1864 - Adjt. William Noble |
Killed, in the gallant charge on the enemy's rifle pits, in front of Knoxville, on Tuesday, Nov. 24,
(eighth day of the seige,) Adjt. William Noble, Second Michigan Volunteers, formerly of Philadelphia,
aged 21 years, 10 months and 24 days.
The rebels admired so much the bravery of our men, that they marked Adjt. Noble's grave with a neat
board, with his name on it. If the body can be taken to Detroit, due notice of the funeral will be
given.
