RUTH DOBY SICKLES, 77, of BEACHWOOD, died yesterday at her daughter's home in Beachwood after a long fight with
brain cancer. She retired after many years of service from the Trenton Post Office. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church,
Lakehurst, the American Legion Eagles Women's Organization of New Jersey, and Forgotten Pets Inc. Born in Salisbury,
N.C., she lived in the Trenton area most of her life before moving to Beachwood four years ago.
Her husband, Sgt. Edward James Sickles, died during World War II while serving with the 82nd Airborne; and she was
predeceased by her parents, Isaac Filmore and Lula Mae Miller Doby. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth M.
and Richard E. Marcine Jr. of Beachwood; a sister and brother-in-law, Ollie and Joseph Esposito; a grandson and his
wife, Richard E. III and Afie Marcine of Branchville; a granddaughter, Debra Ruth Marcine of Parsippany-Troy Hills;
three great-grandchildren, Danny, Lissy and Taylor Marcine; and two nephews, James and Joseph Esposito.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Buklad Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad St., Hamilton. Funeral services
will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ernest Bliss, pastor of Memorial Baptist Church,
officiating. Burial will follow in Ewing Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Thomasville Children's Home,
