Mrs. Catherine Arose, 85, of 97 West Prospect Ave., Cliffwood, died Sunday, July 27, 1969, at the John L. Montgomery Medical Home, Freehold, after a long illness. She was the widow of Burton Arose. Mrs. Arose was born in Ireland and had lived most of her life in this area.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Keyport. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Figoni and Mrs. Anna Roloff, both of Spring Lake Heights; Mrs. Margaret Smith, Old Bridge, and Mrs. Josephine Truax, Keansburg; a brother, Michael Gormley, Keansburg; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Claney, Parlin; nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. A high requiem mass will be offered this Thursday at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Interment, under the direction of the Day Funeral Home of Keyport, will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Matawan.
