William H. Arose, Sr., 79, of 158 Loraine Dr., Cliffwood Beach, a former resident of Keyport, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 1966, in Monmouth Medical Center. Born in Rumson, he was the son of the late John H. And Druscilla (Morris) Arose.

Mr. Arose had lived in Cliffwood Beach 17 years. He was an exempt member of the Keyport Engine Co. 1, and a member of Woodmen of the World, Keyport Chapter 51.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nina (Aumack) Arose; two sons, William H. Arose, Jr., Hollywood, Fla., and Winfield Arose, Cliffwood Beach, a daughter, Mrs. Harold S. Schanck, Matawan; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Gyling, Metuchen, and Mrs. Bess Feketie, Keyport, a brother, Edward Arose, Greenport, L.I.; one grandchild, and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Bedle Funeral Home, Keyport, with Rev. David Propert, pastor of Calvary Methodist Church, Keyport, officiating. Burial was in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.
