John Howard VanNest, 89, of Little Silver, Monmouth Co.,NJ died August 15,1947 at Monmouth Memorial Hospital.

He was born at Vanderburg, to the late Asher M. and Eleanor B. (Hunt) VanNest. Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Mary Wolcott, wife of the late Marshall L. Wolcott.Six grandchildren from this union are, Marshall VanNest Wolcott, Eleanor Titus wife of Willard W. Jensen, John Addison Wolcott, Vivian Irene wife of Clifford N. Smith, Dorothy May wife of John P. Herr Neckar and Caroline Harriet Wolcott. A son George H.and daughter-in-law Lillian M. (Herbert) VanNest. Grandchildren from this union are, Joseph G.VanNest, John H. VanNest, Anna H. VanNest, George K. VanNest, and Albert G. VanNest. A sister Minnie E. (Titus) Harvey.

The funeral was held at the Woolley Funeral Home. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Little Silver, NJ.
