John Worthley, who lived on Branch avenue at Little Silver, died last Friday a week ago of appendicitis. He was taken to the Long Branch hospital, but the disease had so far advanced that he died before an operation could be performed. Mr. Worthley was about fifty years old and was a son of Lewis Worthley. He was a mason by trade. He leaves a wife, who was Miss Annie Cox, and three children. He leaves also two brothers, Cyrenius and Gilbert Worthley, and five sisters, Mrs. Wesley Hurley, Mrs. Deborah Pope, Mrs. Calvin Kennel and Libbie and Lillie Worthley. The funeral was held on Monday at the Little Silver Methodist church.
