William J. Shields, son of William Shields of River street, Red Bank, died on Monday of a complication of diseases, aged ten years. About six weeks ago he had diphtheria. He recovered from this disease, but Bright's disease and other complications set in and caused his death. His mother had been sick with diphtheria and his sister is now sick with the disease. The funeral was held yesterday at the house at two o'clock and was conducted by Rev. James A. Reynolds. The body was buried at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
