Mrs. Jane Maria Denise of Oceanic died on Sunday at the state hospital at Trenton. She had been in feeble health for a year, and about a week before her death she was taken to the hospital. Apoplexy was the cause of her death. She was 81 years old. The funeral was held this afternoon at one o'clock at the house and was conducted by Rev. J. W. Nickelson. The body was buried at Little Silver.

Mrs. Denise was the daughter of Elisha Jeffrey and was born in Shrewsbury township. She was twice married. Her first husband was Joseph Keach and her second husband was Benjamin D. Denise. Both are dead. She leaves a son and daughter by her first husband - Elisha J. Keach and Mrs. Whitney Jeffrey of Oceanic; and a son by her second husband, Edward Denise of Brooklyn. She leaves also a brother, Bartine Jeffrey of Jersey City, and a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Curtis of Manasquan.
