New Jersey Obituaries - 1902 - "Old Allen"

Found Dead in Bed
A colored man at West End, Long Branch, who was known only as "Old Allen" was found dead on Thursday in an old building in the rear of the Howland hotel. He had lived alone for a number of years amidst filthy surroundings. His death was due to privation and neglect.
