New Jersey Obituaries - 1902 - Mrs. Mary J. (Lockerman) Roberts
Mrs. Mary J. (Lockerman) Roberts of Keyport died on Saturday, April 5th, of old age, aged 85 years. She had been failing both in mind and body for a number of years and for a week before her death she took no nourishment whatever. She was the daughter of Catherine and James Lockerman and was born at Matawan. She was twice married. Her first husband was Thomas Roberts of Keansburg. By him she had three daughters and one son. Mrs. Ann Wright is the only surviving child. Her second husband was a Mr. Bingham, who was employed as letter carrier at Jersey City. They separated soon after their marriage and Mrs. Roberts resumed the name of her first husband. Mrs. Roberts owned considerable property at Keyport and Atlantic Highlands at one time.
