Sophia C., widow of John V. D. Gulick, Sr., died of paralysis on Wednesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Fourt on Monmouth street. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Gulick suffered a slight stroke of paralysis about two years ago. Last September she received a second stroke and after that time the lower part of her body was helpless. About three weeks ago she began to fail rapidly.

Mrs. Gulick was born at Kingston, New Jersey, and she had lived at Red Bank 28 years. Her husband died 44 years ago. Three brothers survive her and she leaves also one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at Kingston on Saturday.
