Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Mrs. Mary E. (Oliphant) Cooper

Mrs. Mary E. Cooper, widow of Alfred Cooper of Freehold, died on Saturday, September 7th, aged 66 years. Mrs. Cooper was the daughter of Judge Oliphant of Barnegat. She was married to Mr. Cooper in 1856. For a time after their marriage they lived at Quency, Illinois, and at New York, but about forty years ago they moved to Freehold. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Freehold Methodist church and of the women's temperance union of that place. She had never missed a meeting of the temperance union since she became a member of the organization. Six children survive her. They are Mrs. Josephine Phair, Frank T. Cooper and Howard Cooper of Freehold, Mrs. Everitt Morris of Long Branch; Mrs. Philip R. Sprague of West Creek and Mrs. J. H. Youmans of New York.
