Death's Unusual visitation
Two Families Lose Four Children Within a Week
Death made an unusual visitation in two families of the county last week. In each case a boy and girl was taken and the ages of both boys and both girls were nearly the same.
One of the families afflicted was that of Michael Finley of Long Branch. His daughter Alice Emma, aged ten months and his son Daniel, aged two years, died within three days of each other. The girl died of cholera infantum and the boy of heart disease.
The other family afflicted was that of Frederick Russell of Farmingdale. His daughter Madeline, aged eight months, and his son Bertie, aged two years, died within 48 hours of each other. Both deaths were due to cholera infantum.
