Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Mrs. Lydia Parker

Lydia, widow of Henry Parker, died early on Thursday morning at her home on Central avenue, aged 84 years. Old age and a complication of diseases caused her death.

Mrs. Parker's husband died six years ago. She had no children and no living relatives. She was the first cook on the steamer Sea Bird when that boat was put on the route between Red Bank and New York in 1866, and she held that position until twelve years ago. The was known as "Aunt Lydia." The funeral was held at Zion church, of which she was a member, on Saturday afternoon. The body was buried at South Eatontown.
