Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Dr. J. A. W. Hetrick

Dr. J. A. W. Hetrick, a practicing physician at Asbury Park, died on Wednesday of paralysis, aged 56 years. He was sick only three days. He was born at Mt. Pleasant, near Reading, Pennsylvania. He prepared for the ministry but abandoned theology for the practice of medicine. For the past 25 years he had been a resident of Asbury Park. He was a director of the Asbury Park and Ocean Grove bank, a member of the Masonic and Knights of Templar lodges, and had been commissioner of appeals of Asbury Park. He served with a Pennsylvania regiment in the civil war and took part in the battle of Gettysburg. A wife and seven children survive him.
