Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Mrs. Ethel Doughty

Mrs. Ethel Doughty, wife of Capt. Charles Doughty of Fair Haven, died yesterday morning of consumption. She had suffered with that disease twelve years, but had been seriously sick only a week. She was 65 years old. The funeral will be held at the house on Friday afternoon at half past two o'clock. Rev. John Watson of the Fair Haven Methodist church will have charge of the service. The body will be buried in the cemetery at Little Silver.

Mrs. Doughty was born at Fair Haven. When about twelve years old her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Keach, moved to Red Bank. Forty-three years ago she married Capt. Doughty and she had since lived at Red Bank until fourteen years ago, when the family moved to Fair Haven. Besides her husband she leaves four children. They are Mrs. Matthew Reilley, Mrs. Elwood Smith, Mrs. Harry Dennis and George Doughty. All live at Fair Haven.
