Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Mrs. Sarah A. (Hawley) Ford

Mrs. Sarah A. Ford of Front street died last Wednesday night of paralysis. On the Sunday previous Mrs. Ford was taken sick
with a bilious headache in the Baptist church and had to leave the church and return home. On Tuesday night she was stricken
with paralysis and she died 24 hours later. The funeral was held on Saturday morning at the house. Rev. William B. Matteson
of the Baptist church had charge of the service and the body was buried in Maplewood cemetery.
Mrs. Ford was 63 years old. She was born in Ocean county and spent the early part of her life there. Her husband was James
Ford, who died a number of years ago. She had two children, Benjamin H. Ford of Red Bank and Mrs. William T. Ackerman of
Freehold. After her husband's death she lived with her son and with her daughter. Mrs. Ford had been a member of the Baptist
church for a long time. One brother and four sisters survive her. They are Mrs. John Bailey of Red Bank, Mrs. William Chambers
of Bennett's Mills, Ocean county; Mrs. Edward VanHise of Hammonton, and Martin Hawley of Ocean Grove.
