Mrs. Rachel Holmes of Shrewsbury died last Thursday from a general breaking down of her health. She was 78 years old. She died without medical attendance and Coroner Tetley was notified. He was satisfied that she died from natural causes and he gave a permit for burial. Mrs. Holmes's name was Bowles before her marriage and both her father and mother were natives of New Jersey. Her husband died a number of years ago and up to the time that her health began to fail she had been engaged at housework in different families. She leaves eight children and 43 grandchildren.
