Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - James Brandt
|
James Brandt of Keansburg died last Friday of consumption, aged 35 years. He had been sick since Thanksgiving. For several years he was a watchman on
the steamboat William V. Wilson of Port Monmouth. Two years ago he secured a position in a New York warehouse and stayed there until forced to give up
work on account of failing health. He leaves a wife and one child. His wife was Miss Hettie Cottrell of Keyport. He leaves also a mother, a sister and
a brother. His mother, Mrs. Sarah Brandt, has been cook on the steamboat Wilson ever since it has been running. His sister is Mrs. John Roe of Keansburg
and his brother is John Brandt, who has a position as stationary engineer at New York. Mr. Brandt's funeral was held on Monday at the house and was
conducted by Rev. John Allen.
