Edmund G. Harrison, a former postmaster of Asbury Park and at one time a prominent Republican politician of Monmouth county, died at Washington D. C. last Wednesday night. He was 78 years old. Death was caused by heart trouble. Mr. Harrison moved from Asbury park to Philadelphia some years ago and about three months ago he moved to Washington. After his term of office as postmaster of Asbury Park had Mr. Harrison became interested in the good roads movement and he was in the government employ for some time as an instructor and lecturer on roads. His office was held under the agricultural department of the government.

Mr. Harrison leaves a widow and six children. Only one of the children, William E. Harrison, is a resident of this county. He lives at Asbury Park. Mr. Harrison was a member of the Asbury Park Grand Army Post and of the Asbury Park lodge of Odd Fellows.
