Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Alfred B. Holsten
|
Alfred B. Holsten of Keyport died on Saturday, July 27th, aged 66 years. He had been sick over a year with kidney and liver trouble and for the past seven months he had been confined to the house. He was born at Squankum, in this county. When he was 23 years old he married Miss Margaret Walker of New York and in 1861 the couple moved to Keyport. At the breaking out of the war Mr. Holsten enlisted in the 29th New Jersey regiment and served for nine months. He then enlisted in the navy and served for two years. His wife survives him and he also leaves five daughters and a son. The children are Mrs. Aaron H. Bedle, Mrs. Asher Collins, Mrs. Benjamin Travers and Miss Josephine of Keyport; Mrs. Howard Sutphen of Holmdel, and Alfred Holsten of Dayton, Ohio.
