Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Amos Briggs

Amos Briggs of Upper Freehold township died on Thursday, April 11th, aged 66 years. He had been sick six months. Mr. Briggs
was born at Crosswicks and was the son of Harriet and Henry Briggs. At the age of ten years he moved to Upper Freehold township,
near Imlaystown, where he lived until two years ago, when he moved to Allentown. In November 1858, Mr. Briggs married Mary E.
Bromell, daughter of Rhoda and James Bromell. She and five children survive him. The children are Mrs. Jennie Hendrickson. of
Imlaystown, Miss Margaret Briggs of Allentown, Mrs. Hattie Garwood of Philadelphia, George W. Briggs of Trenton and James Briggs
of South Amboy. Mr. Briggs leaves also a sister and two brothers. They are Mrs. Annie VanCleaf of Jamesburg and Charles and
William Briggs of New Sharon.
