Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - John McElwaine

John McElwaine of Englishtown died of bowel consumption last Wednesday, aged 69 years. He had
been sick a year but had been confined to his bed only a week. Mr. McElwaine was a son of the
late Margaret and Jacob McElwaine. He was a carpenter by trade and had lived at Englishtown
many years. His wife, who was Mary Sanford, died about seven years ago. Mr. McElwaine leaves
a brother and a sister. They are Mrs. Ellen Reid, who lives near Hightstown; and Holmes
McElwaine of South River.
