Obits - NJ - 1900 - John Henry Wyckoff

Joh Henry Wyckoff , a well-known (sic) and prosperous farmer of Pleasant Valley, in Holmdel township, died suddenly of apoplexy on Saturday morning. Mr. Wyckoff had been complaining for some past but he was in his usual health on the day of his death. He was churning when he was stricken with apoplexy and he died in a few minutes. He was 65 years old.
Mr. Wyckoff spent his early life at Middletown. He was married about 13 years ago and he then bought the farm on which he died. He had been a member of the Holmdel Baptist church for many years. He leaves a widow and nine children. The children are William George, Joseph and Holmes Wyckoff of Holmdel; Nettie, wife of Douglass Taylor of Vanderburg; Clara, wife of Edwin S. Lupton of Matawan; Julie, wife of Harry Snooks of New York; John Wyckoff of Brooklyn and James Wyckoff of Michigan. Another daughter, Bertha, died last November. Three brothers also survive him. They are Jacob and Joseph Wyckoff of Morrisville and Holmes Wyckof of Keyport. The funeral was held at two o'clock this afternoon at the house. Rev. R. B. Fisher, pastor of the Holmdel Baptist church , officiated. The body was buried in the Holmdel cemetery. Mr. Wyckoff's six sons acted as pall bearers.
