|
Mrs. Fields Will
Caroline W. Fields of Neptune township made her will February 19th, 1897. To Arthur Wood, son of her niece Mrs. Mary Wood of Philadelphia, she left a bedroom suit. All the rest of her bedding and her clothing are to be equally divided between Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Eliza Shruby of West Asbury Park. To Eliza Shruby and Charles Shruby, her husband, she left a house and lot at Asbury Park. Mrs. Fields’s debts are to be paid by Mr. and Mrs. Shruby and $12 a year is to be paid to her husband, Moses Fields, during his life. All the rest of her estate is left in trust to her executor, James D. Carton. Mr. Carton is given authority to sell whatever of the estate he may think best. She directed that some real estate at Long island be sold and the income of the money be paid annually to Arthur Wood until he becomes 21 years of age, when the principal is to be paid to him. George B. Herbert and William I. Thompson were the witnesses to the will.
