New Jersey Obituaries - 1900 - John R. Mount
|
John R. Mount, one of the oldest residents of Manalapan township, died of paralysis at his home on the VanDoren place near Manalapan village, on Monday of last week, aged eighty years. Mr. Mount was the son of Margaret and Peter Mount and was born near Englishtown. He was a farmer by occupation and had spent nearly all his life in the vicinity of the place where he died. Mr. Mount was married three times. His first wife was Susan Craig, by whom he leaves three children. They are P. J. Mount and Mrs. J. W. Breese of Brooklyn and Mrs. Richard Martin of New Brunswick. His second wife was Sarah Abrams and by her he leaves three children. They are Bertram and William B. Mount of Brooklyn and Harry P. Mount of Manalapan. His third wife, who survives him, was formerly Rachel Smock. He leaves no children by this marriage. He leaves also two sisters and a brother. They are Mrs. Matilda Perrine of Manalapan, Mrs. Sarah Ely of Hightstown and James B. Mount of Newark.
