|
Mrs. Ellen A. (Kirby) Eastmond, wife of Thomas J. Eastmond, who lives between Port Monmouth and Keansburg, died on Sunday of diabetis (sic), aged 57 years. She had been ailing from diabetis all winter, but was sick in bed only one day before her death.
Mrs. Eastmond’s maiden name was Kirby and she was born at New York. The early part of her life was spent at Bay Ridge, Long Island. Thirty two years ago she married Mr. Eastmond and since then she had lived in the vicinity of Port Monmouth and Keansburg. She was a member of the Keansburg Methodist church and was always active in church work. She was a good neighbor and will be greatly missed in the community.
Besides a husband Mrs. Eastmond leaves three children. They are Mrs. William Robinson and Mrs. George Wilson of Keansburg, and Miss Ella Eastmond, who lives at home. She leaves also a brother and a sister, John W. Kirby and Mrs. Elizabeth Daly of New York, and half-sister, Mrs. Annie McKeown of Bay Ridge. The funeral was held to-day at one o’clock at the house and at two o’clock at the Keansburg Methodist church. Rev. S. K. Moore of South River, a former pastor of the Keansburg church, conducted the services assisted by Rev. John Allen. The body was buried in Green Grove cemetery at Keyport.
