Mrs. Elizabeth C. Roop of White street, widow of Daniel J. Roop, died of heart disease on Saturday, aged 78 years. She had been in poor health for some time but had been confined to her bed only two days. Mrs. Roop had been a member of the First Methodist church for a number of years. She leaves two daughters. They are Mrs. John H. Davis of Long Branch and Mrs. Theodore Francis of Atlantic Highlands. She leaves also nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at two o’clock yesterday at the First Methodist church. The sermon was preached by Rev. E. C. Hancock and the body was buried in Fair View cemetery.
