New Jersey Obituaries - 1900 - Jennie E. (Blackman) Cheney

Jennie E. (Blackman) Cheney, wife of Edward P. Cheney of Throckmorton street, died of consumption last Saturday, aged 52 years. The funeral was held on Monday night at the house at eight o’clock. The body was taken to Fresh Pond, Long Island, on Tuesday morning to be cremated. The ashes will be preserved at Litchfield, Connecticut. A husband and one daughter, Inez Cheney, survive her. She leaves also five sisters and one brother. They are Mrs. H. E. Clark of Litchfield, Connecticut; Mrs. John O. Blake of Chicago; Mrs. Mary Tanner and Charles F. Blackman of Woodbury, Connecticut, and Mrs. L. L. Kelsey of Madison, Connecticut. Mr. Cheney’s sister was the wife of Horace Greely.
