Henry J. Campbell of Keyport died of acute indigestion on Saturday, December 23d, aged fifty years. He was the son of the late Andrew Campbell of Keyport. His death was very sudden, he having been sick only a few hours. He was a veteran of the war of the Rebellion and was the youngest volunteer to go from this state, being only fifteen years old when he enlisted with the 23d New York volunteers. He ran away from home once to enlist but his father got him home. When he was sworn in another person said he was his father and that he gave his consent for the boy to go to the war.
