D. Nelson Decker of Keyport died of consumption last Wednesday, aged 23 years. He had been sick about a year. Mr. Decker was employed on his father’s sloop until last summer, when he went to New York state for the benefit of his health. He was not benefited by the change and he gradually grew weaker until he died.
Mr. Decker was the son of Captain Daniel M. Decker and he was born on Staten island. He had lived at Keyport nearly all his life. He married Miss Alida Johnson and she and one daughter survive him. Mr. Decker was a member of the Junior American Mechanics’ lodge of Keyport and of the Keyport hook and ladder company.
