William Emmons of Holmdel died last Wednesday of gangrene, aged 81 years. Mr. Emmons was born at Old Bridge. He moved to Holmdel when a young man and and had farmed in that neighborhood ever since. A wife and eight children survive him. The children are Samuel, Joseph and William Emmons and Mrs. L. Y. Crawford of Holmdel; Mrs. Frank Poland of Matawan, Mrs. Abraham Conover of Keyport, Mrs. John Carhart of Long Branch and Holmes Emmons of Seabright. Mr. Emmons leaves also a sister and a brother, Margaret and James Emmons of Spotswood. Mr. Emmons was a member of the Baptist church. The funeral was held at the house on Friday morning and the body was buried in the Holmdel cemetery.
