Capt. Samuel Hartwick McKeen of Keyport died last Wednesday, aged 44 years. About a week before his death Mr. McKeen cut his left hand with a hatchet while chopping wood. Blood poisoning set in and this caused his death. Mr. McKeen was born at New Gretna, New Jersey. He had been a resident of Keyport for seventeen years. For many years he was engaged in the freighting business. Mr. McKeen was a member of the Red Men's and Odd Fellows lodges of Keyport. He leaves a widow, two daughters and a son.
