New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Elizabeth L. (Pierce) Morris

Mrs. Elizabeth L. Morris, widow of Jacob W. Morris, died of heart disease at Long Branch on Saturday. She was 63 years old. She had been in poor health for the past two years, but she was not taken seriously sick until two weeks ago. From that time until her death she sank rapidly. The funeral was held yesterday at noon at her late residence at Long Branch. The body was buried at West Long Branch.

Mrs. Morris was born at Manasquan and was the daughter of Capt. Benjamin Pierce. On March 15th, 1854, she married Mr. Morris at her home at Manasquan. Shortly after the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Morris began housekeeping at Long Branch. Mr. Morris died in 1879. The children living are Mrs. Wilbur A. Heisley, Mrs. Frank M. Taylor, Mrs. E. Randolph Slocum and Benjamin M. Morris of Long Branch, and Mrs. James M. Green of Trenton. Another son, Jacob Morris, died when he was nineteen years old.
