New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Joseph W. Barnes

Joseph W. Barnes died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Anna S. Barnes of Keyport, on Sunday, September 3d, aged 27 years. He had been sick with consumption and his death was hastened by lockjaw. A few weeks ago he dropped a piece of ice on his foot, which bruised it. He wore a shoe on the foot and this irritated the wound, causing lockjaw. Mr. Barnes was not married. He was the son of Anna S. Whelen and the late William E. Barnes.

Per the Death Notice Mr. Barnes was 27 years, 6 months and 14 days of age.
