New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Emma (Manning) Brown

Mrs. Emma Brown, wife of Lewis B. Brown of Elberon, died suddenly of heart disease last Wednesday, aged 83 years. Mrs. Brown was the daughter of Rachel Renshaw and Stelle Manning and was born in New York. She married Mr. Brown October 10th, 1863. They had lived in the homestead where Mrs. Brown died, for 32 summers. At one time Mr. Brown owned nearly all the land in the vicinity of Elberon. The place was named from Mr. Brown's initials and a contraction of his last name. Mrs. Brown leaves four children. They are Mrs. Louis Gawtry, Mrs. Helen Coles, Lewis M. Brown and Charles S. Brown.
