New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Sarah Johnson

Mrs. Sarah Johnson, wife of Benjamin Johnson, died of dropsy at her home on Central avenue yesterday morning, aged 28 years. About a year ago Mrs. Johnson underwent an operation at the Long Branch hospital for the removal of a tumor. Dropsy set in after the operation and she has been sinking slowly ever since. Besides her husband, one daughter survives her. Mrs. Johnson's body was taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. John Addison of Mechanic street, and the funeral will be held from there on Friday afternoon at one o'clock and at two o'clock at the Pilgrim Baptist church on Pearl street. The service will be conducted by Rev. E. Drumgolde. The body will be buried at White Ridge cemetery at Eatontown. Mrs. Johnson was insured for $100 in the Prudential Life insurance company.
