New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Mary L. Croydon

Mrs. Mary L. Croydon, wife of Charles Croydon of Borden street, died last Thursday night of anaemia. She was 44 years old and had been sick about five months. She was a member of the First Methodist church of Newark and an active member of the Daughters of Liberty of Red Bank. Besides her husband a son survives her. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist church and the service was conducted by Rev. E. C. Hancock. The Daughters of Liberty attended the service in a body. The pall bearers were Charles Henry Lewis, George Duncan, Raymond Seers, Abram Davison, Joshua Bennett and Azariah Hurley. The body was taken to Newark on Monday and was buried at Fairmont cemetery.
