New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - David L. Tilton

David L. Tilton, who drove a stage line between Toms River and Freehold before the days of railroads, died at Lanoka, in Ocean county, on Saturday, February 25th. At one time he kept the hotel at Turkey, but during the last years of his life he was employed by his brother Asa, who kept the Lafayette house at Forked River. Mr. Tilton married a Miss Errickson of Freehold, and he leaves five daughters and one son. The children are Mrs. Estella Smith, Mrs. Allie Giberson, Misses Fanny, Mary and Carrie Tilton, and Britton C. Tilton.
