New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Joseph Schanck

Joseph Schanck of Freehold died on Tuesday morning of last week, aged 90 years. Mr. Schanck was a descendant of the early Dutch settlers of Monmouth county, and his family bible, which he had carefully preserved, contains dates of births and deaths as far back as 1609. Mr. Schanck was born on a farm in Marlboro township and followed farming there all his life until about four years ago, when he and his wife moved to Freehold. His wife died last December and he leaves one son, C. T. Schanck of Brooklyn, who is employed by the publishing firm of D. Appleton & Co. of New York. Mr. Schanck had been a member of the Marlboro Brick church for many years, and was a constant attendant until prevented by the infirmities of age.

Per the Death Notice Mr. Schanck was aged 89 years, 8 months and 29 days.
